GRU has already installed the ARINC VeriPax at its new Terminal 3, with plans to install the system at Terminals 1, 2 and 4 over the future.
The ARINC VeriPax reads boarding passes using new 2D barcode scanners, automatically screens passengers against flight information systems in real time, determines clearance and provides alerts to agents when necessary.
It is also expected to screen passengers against airline host systems in the future.
GRU chief information officer Luiz Eduardo Ritzmann said: "By automating the screening process, we believe that VeriPax has enabled us to improve GRU’s passenger flow by 15%-20%."
