Air transport IT specialist Sita will deploy a new traveller document authentication system using its boarding pass validation technology at the Abu Dhabi International Airport in the UAE.
Sita’s Airport iValidate is expected to automatically verify mobile boarding passes and home-printed passes to help improve security, increase the speed of passenger processing and reduce waiting times for passengers.

Abu Dhabi International Airport will become the first airport in the Middle East to use the technology.
The airport’s Traveler Document Authentication System using Airport iValidate directs passengers to the correct terminal and security checkpoint and ensures that they present their barcode boarding passes either on paper or on their mobile phones.
After automatically validating the data, verifying for duplicates and cross-referencing against the Airport Operational Database and the airline’s Departure Control System, the information is quickly sent to the security agent on an intuitive graphical user interface.

Scheduled to be installed by next month, the Airport iValidate system consists of four security lanes with automatic gates, four mobile/paper boarding pass scanners and four hand-held wireless boarding pass scanners.
Initially, the system will be deployed in Terminal 3 economy and business area, followed by both economy and business in Terminal 1 of the airport.
Sita will also deploy its staff on-site to support and maintain the Airport iValidate system.
