Salt Lake City International Airport in Utah, US, is planning to construct a $740m concourse north of the airport’s existing terminal.
The North Concourse will be built in two phases and add 30 new gates to the airport.

It will allow the airport authority to handle future passenger growth and replace existing facilities.
The project is in addition to the South Concourse, which will shortly begin construction as part of the Salt Lake City Department of Airport’s (SLCDA’s) Terminal Redevelopment Programme (TRP).
SLCDA executive director Maureen Riley said: "We’ve studied the alternatives to accommodate passenger growth at Salt Lake City International Airport.
"Building the North Concourse sooner, rather than later, is the best solution for the future."

By GlobalDataThe development of the North Concourse will increase the TRP’s cost from $1.8bn to $2.6bn.
Salt Lake City Mayor Jacqueline Biskupski said: "Aligned with our other resources, the airport is a key economic driver for our city and state.
"This addition is essential in building a state-of-the-art facility to help attract more business and tourism dollars, and completely in line with my plan for robust economic development.
"We are on track to making the entire experience more efficient and pleasant for everyone."
The airport currently handles more than 22 million passengers every year, which is more than double its design capacity.
