The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has selected defence and security company, Saab, to install its advanced – surface movement guidance & control system (A-SMGCS) and multilateration system at Singapore Changi Airport.

Saab is currently installing its integrated air traffic control suite (I-ATS) at Singapore Changi Airport and will upgrade the existing eight-year-old A-SMGCS system.

In addition, the company will replace the current network of multilateration sensors with its latest generation of RU7 ground stations.

Saab’s I-ATS technology is designed to combine surveillance data from the multilateration sensors and surface movement radars to locate and identify all aircraft operating on the surface of the Changi Airport.
