Qatar Airways has been moved from Terminal 2 to the new Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as part of a major relocation of 21 airlines planned through mid-May this year.
Thomas Cook Airlines has also resumed its seasonal service to Great Britain at the new LAX terminal.

Qatar Airways and Thomas Cook are the fourth and fifth carriers respectively, to move as part of Delta Air Lines’ relocation from Terminals 5 and 6 to Terminals 2 and 3.
Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners president Sean Burton said: “Qatar and Thomas Cook are the final airlines to move to make way for the major relocation in mid-May.
“We continue to gear up for that significant undertaking, and ask our airport guests to do what they can to be prepared.”
Of the 21 airlines, 15 will be moving their operations between 12 May and 17 May, immediately after the last flight service each day, and continue into the early-morning hours of the following day.

By GlobalDataThe relocation is the first step toward a $1.9bn plan to redevelop, upgrade and connect Terminals 2 and 3 at LAX over the next seven years.
The project will offer a secure connector to the north side of the TBIT and allow Delta Air Lines to develop a premier space for its airport operations alongside its airline partners.
During the relocation, Delta flights will operate from Terminals 2, 3, 5 and 6 on certain days. After the move, the airline will operate 23 gates at LAX, along with many of its other airline partners.
Once modernised, the new facility will offer several amenities, such as a private Delta One check-in lounge, fast check-in for Delta Shuttle services, new Delta Sky Clubs, and an in-line baggage system.
The revamped space at the airport will facilitate smooth traffic flow and provide sufficient gate area seating to the customers.
