Australia’s New South Wales (NSW) Government and Sydney Airport have announced plans to jointly invest A$531m ($500m) to improve traffic flow in and around the airport.
The investment will be used in a series of ground transport solutions and airport facility upgrades.

Of the total investment, a total of A$282m ($265.47m) will be invested in road projects around the airport, which includes A$40m ($37.65m) from the federal government for WestConnex enabling works and additional projects.
NSW road minister Duncan Gay said: "Our package of works, including the WestConnex enabling works, will minimise congestion through the provision of direct and improved access to and from the new motorway from the airport and port precincts.
Works under the upgrade include the widening of Marsh Street, as well as Joyce Drive and General Holmes Drive between O’Riordan Street and Mill Pond Road.
The $300m on-airport works include transformative road works at T1, T2 and T3, a ground transport interchange, a multimodal storage and car park facility and a hotel in the T2/T3 precinct.

By GlobalDataSydney Airport chief executive officer Kerrie Mather said the key priority is to improve the airport user experience, with more than 150,000 passengers travelling to and from the airport every day.
"We have listened to our customers and are working to make it easier to travel to the airport, whether by car or public transport," Mather said.
"With 74 million passengers a year forecast by 2033, we are now building the road and public transport capacity to support continued tourism and travel growth."
