Global science and technology solutions provider Leidos has been selected to provide a Beontra operational terminal prediction (OTP) tool, to be installed at Terminal 4 of John F. Kennedy International Airport in the US.
Once deployed, the tool will help optimise operations at the terminal.
Using live flight updates from the airport operational database and other stakeholders including airlines and other sources, the Beontra OTP provides an accurate forecast of passenger flow across the terminal.
Updated in real-time, the forecast also uses the latest available information, enabling Terminal 4 staff to identify and manage issues across the passenger journey beforehand.
The terminal handles more than 70,000 passengers in a day, with 48% of them bound for international destinations.
John F. Kennedy International Airport president and CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff said: "As part of our continuous effort to provide passengers with a stress-free travel experience, Terminal 4 has partnered with Beontra to help us better utilise our resources and proactively manage passenger journeys.

By GlobalData"Beontra Operational Terminal Prediction will allow us to manage our terminal operations more efficiently and help us create a 'don't worry, be happy' environment for Terminal 4 travellers.
“A smooth and seamless travel experience is what our team strives to provide. Beontra's technology will help us do that even more effectively than before."
Leidos installed a queue measurement system, which displays processing times for travellers, at several locations of JFK Airport's Terminal 4 last year.
The system uses beacons to detect and track Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signals from devices to obtain passenger wait times, journey times and density.
