Kalitta Air has finalised the purchase of a new Boeing 747-400ERF aircraft to enhance its international cargo operations.

The 747-400ERF aircraft, powered by Pratt & Whitney PW4062 and General Electric CF6-80C2B5F engines, can fly non-stop for up to 7,670nm (14,200km).

The maximum take-off weight for the aircraft is 910,000lb (412,770kg).

The airline fleet consists of 22 aircraft, which includes seven B747-400F and 15 B747-200F aircraft.

The new plane is expected to be in service by 15 December 2011.
