Indian airline IndiGo will take delivery of 24 A320neos aircrafts from Airbus until next March.
Starting this March, the delivery forms a part of the order made by IndiGo in 2011 to procure 180 A320s, including 150 A320neos.

The airline originally planned to add these aircrafts to its existing fleet last December. However, the delivery of the aircrafts were delayed due to certain issues at Airbus, Livemint reported.
Commenting on the procurement, IndiGo president Aditya Ghosh was quoted by PTI as saying: "This also marks the beginning of the next phase of IndiGo’s growth and will enable it to make air transportation far more accessible for the flyers."
Powered by Pratt and Whitney’s fuel-efficient geared turbo fan engines, Airbus’ A320neos are claimed to help IndiGo in reducing its fuel costs.
Airbus claims that A320neos use nearly 15% less fuel than the existing versions.

By GlobalDataGhosh was quoted by PTI as saying: "With the resolution of the delivery of A320neos, IndiGo expects to continue with its strong operating performance, growth in profitability and healthy cash generation. India remains one of the most under-penetrated aviation markets in the world.
"The combination of our unique structural cost advantages, superb product quality and large fuel-efficient aircraft orders would enable us to deliver superior financial performance for a long period of time."
IndiGo currently operates a fleet of 102 new Airbus A320 aircraft, connecting 35 domestic destinations and five international destinations, namely Bangkok, Dubai, Kathmandu, Muscat and Singapore.
