Hong Kong International Airport is to install a new cargo management system from 1 December 2011 at its Hactl SuperTerminal 1.

The new system, Community System for Air Cargo Plus (COSAC-Plus), will help the terminal handle up to 3.5 million tonnes of cargo per year.

COSAC-Plus was developed for Hactl by subsidiary HACTL Solutions, which will provide full air cargo management solutions for all sectors of the industry.

The new system will help the terminal expedite custom clearance and provide better cargo-tracking features than its predecessors, COSAC and COSAC2.

The installation is part of Hactl’s HK$240m ($30.8m) plan to revamp its freight-handling facilities.
