Passenger traffic at Hong Kong International Airport rose to 4.3 million in September 2011, an increase of 5.4% on the corresponding month in 2010.
Flight movements went up by 6.1% to 27,695, while cargo volumes fell by 6.1% to 325,000t due to a 10% year-on-year drop in exports and a 6% drop in imports.
Passenger traffic recorded a year-on-year increase of 5.8% to 40.2 million during the first nine months of 2011, while flight movements surged by 10.3% to 248,020 compared with same period in 2010.
During the first three quarters of 2011, cargo volumes dropped by 3.9% to 2.9 million tonnes.
