Helicopter support company Heli-One has been awarded a contract by AAR Airlift to provide CT58 engine and component support for its 20 Sikorsky S-61 aircraft.

The scope of the three-year deal includes options for renewal and customer support.

It provides AAR Airlift with access to Heli-One’s engineering knowledge and capabilities, as well as an extensive parts inventory for its S-61 helicopters.

AAR Airlift said that the company in partnership with Heli-One will ensure safe and consistent operations in challenging environments.

The company claimed that it operates the largest fleet of S-61s in the world. It deploys the rotary-wing aircraft to support various operations, including transporting personnel and supplies.

AAR Airlift chief operating officer Jeff Wehrenberg said: "We are often flying in unforgiving places and it is critical that we can trust our equipment and the people who service it.
