This year, work on the project focused on upgrading deteriorated airfield areas at the airport.

The 2017 project included modification of the South Apron, Taxiway Alpha and Runway 05/23 at Halifax Stanfield Airport.

From June to October, construction work was carried out to maintain the integrity of the airport's high-traffic areas, as well as ensure long-term safety and reliability.

A schedule was designed to minimise the risk associated with adverse weather conditions, such as high winds and / or low visibility.
