The newly confirmed deal has doubled GoAir’s order to 144 aircraft, and enables the airline to expand its domestic and international routes.

“By doubling its order to 144 aircraft, GoAir will benefit from a greatly expanded network.”

Airbus commercial aircraft for customers chief operating officer John Leahy said: “The A320neo offers unbeatable operating costs and GoAir’s passengers will continue to enjoy the unrivalled comfort that only Airbus aircraft offer.

The company also noted that GoAir was the first airline to use A320neo in the Spaceflex configuration with 186 seats.

In 2011, Go Air ordered 72 A320neo aircraft, two of which were delivered last June.
