The EU has banned Iran Aseman Airlines from flying within the the region, citing safety issues.

The ban came after the EU updated its air safety list, which includes records of airlines that do not meet global safety standards, and are subject to an operating ban or operational restrictions within the EU.

In the latest upgrade, EU has also removed all Kazakh airlines from its air safety list and has added a total of 193 airlines to the list.

Operating since 1980, Iran Aseman Airlines currently conducts scheduled domestic and international flights, as well as charter and air taxi services.

EU further noted that six airlines, including Gabon’s Afrijet and Nouvelle Air Affaires SN2AG; South Korea’s Air Koryo; Air Service Comores; Iran Air and TAAG Angola Airlines, are allowed to fly only specific aircraft types to the EU.
