Chinese carrier Juneyao Airlines has placed an order with The Boeing Company for five 787-9 Dreamliner twin-engine jet aircraft.

The $1.32bn contract includes options for five additional 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

MTU Aero Engines and Lufthansa Technik have agreed to set up a joint venture (JV) with a $157.9m investment.

The JV is aimed at providing maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services of geared turbofan engines.

Subject to approval of the relevant anti-trust authorities, the JV is expected to be established in the second half of the year.
