Switzerland-based firm comsuisse, in collaboration with its sister company Schmid Telecom Singapore, has successfully completed a site acceptance test (SAT) for extension of the voice communication and control systems (VCCS) main operational solution for Thailand’s Bangkok Area Control Centre (BACC).

As part of the project, the existing three fully redundant ICS 200/60 based installations were extended.

The deployment of the voice communication system (VCS) comprises three fully redundant and distributed myVCS Legacy systems, including 95 operator positions, radio channels, telephone lines, and voice over internet protocol (VoIP) links for radios and telephone connections.

The BACC comprises the entire Thai airspace or Bangkok Flight Information Region, along with the airspace covering a part of the South China Sea west of Cambodia at altitudes up to 46,000ft.

In June, comsuisse completed a functional factory acceptance test (FAT) for the new VCCS operational solution at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Thailand.
