German company Comsoft Solutions has delivered a complete aeronautical information management (AIM) product suite for Myanmar’s AIM roadmap project.

The company has implemented its advanced Comsoft Solutions Aeronautical Data Access System (CADAS) products to manage AIXM 5.1 aeronautical data, notices to airmen (NOTAM), and flight planning, including pre-flight briefing services.

With the delivery and site acceptance of Comsoft Solutions’ AIM system, Myanmar has completed the final step in the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) aeronautical information services (AIS) to AIM roadmap implementation.

The site acceptance of Comsoft’s AIM system was conducted by the Department of Civil Aviation of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (DCA Myanmar).

The final step in the project will be to bring data-driven aeronautical charting into operation, which will be based on the geographic information system (GIS) based SmartCharting tool from Austrian company Frequentis.

Myanmar-based Comsoft Carpe Diem served as the aviation consultants on the project to upgrade the country’s AIM infrastructure based on growing air traffic, in order to optimise airspace management.

The contract and commissioning of stage two of the project, which included data migration for aeronautical information publication (AIP) and charting, was completed over an 18-month period.
