Boeing has signed a deal with Japan Airlines to extend its supply spare parts solutions for another ten years.

Under the new deal, Boeing will provide its GoldCare Expendables solution, which is an expendable parts service solution that would help Japan Airlines to reduce its operating cost.

Boeing will also manage most of the airline’s spare parts inventory and provide items to the airline mechanic when required.

“This approach, along with our world-class customer support, is what continues to make Boeing a preferred parts provider across the globe.”

Boeing commercial aviation services sales and marketing vice-president Rick Anderson said: “Boeing is pleased to continue our longstanding partnership with Japan Airlines, helping to improve operating efficiencies through our parts service.

“Our focus is on providing our customers what they need, before they know they need it.

“This approach, along with our world-class customer support, is what continues to make Boeing a preferred parts provider across the globe.”

Japan Airlines said that it opted to extend the partnership due to the customer support and parts solutions services it has been receiving from Boeing over the years.

Last year, Boeing raised its inventory by 35,000 parts and reduced prices on 24,000 parts.

The company also almost doubled stocked parts for aircraft, which are no longer being produced.

With a fleet of 279 aircraft, Japan Airlines currently operates scheduled and non-scheduled international and domestic passenger and cargo services to 220 destinations in 35 countries.
