The cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform allows airlines and ground handlers to share the physical space and the IT resources of the airport.

"Airlines have already chosen cloud technology to run many critical applications."

Due to its scalable nature and centralised connectivity, the platform can be used by airports, airlines and ground handlers of any size to improve passenger experience.

It will also help to enhance their agility and flexibility to respond to unforeseen situations including weather disruptions and traffic peaks. The platform is compatible with common-use passenger processing system (CUPPS) and peripheral component interconnect (PCI) industry standards.

Amadeus Airport IT head John Jarrell said: "The airport industry has advanced tremendously from the days of dedicated airline check-in desks towards a much more flexible and shared environment.
