Malaysia-based budget airline AirAsia X has taken delivery of two new Airbus A330-300 aircraft, bringing the total fleet to 31 planes.

Delivered from Airbus’ facility in Toulouse, France, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the new aircraft will be immediately put into commercial operations by the airline.

AirAsia X CEO Benyamin Ismail said: "These aircraft are the final two we will receive until our next delivery of the Airbus A330-900neo in 2018.

"We are very happy to have these two aircraft as part of the AirAsia X Berhad family as it gives us the right capacity to introduce more frequencies and connectivity into our route network."

In February, Airbus delivered an A330-300 aircraft to Turkish Airlines.

The 300th aircraft of Turkish Airlines, the new aircraft was planned to be deployed on medium and long-haul routes in line with the airline’s growth strategy.

Since 1984, Turkish Airlines has been operating Airbus jetliners starting with the A310, and currently has around 160 Airbus-built aircraft, including more than 50 jets from the A330 family.
