Airbus has signed a contract with national airline Oman Air to upgrade its A330s cabins for an undisclosed amount.

Work is scheduled to be completed next year.

With the upgrade, the airline expects to modernise the interior of its business class cabins and introduce the latest in-service standards across its long-range fleet.

Oman Air CEO Paul Gregorowitsch said: "We look forward to offering our passengers the very latest Oman Air cabin brand across our full A330 fleet and we are sure that Airbus will deliver on-time and with the highest quality.

The services include standalone services, complete integrated solutions, flight hour and tailored support packages, upgrades, training, e-solutions, engineering and maintenance, flight operations air traffic management and material management services.

The A330 is said to be one of the most cost-efficient and capable aircraft in its class, and is currently being operated by 110 operators worldwide.

In a separate development, Airbus received a firm order from Vietnamese carrier Vietjet for the purchase of 30 more single aisle A321s, which includes nine A321ceo and 21 A321neo.

Vietjet president Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao said: "Today’s order for additional A321s responds to our growth strategy and to the need for additional seat capacity on both domestic and international routes.

"Our aim is to be Vietnam and Asia’s new age carrier, known for quality, efficiency and comfort and our A320 fleet has earned us this reputation."
