The work under the five-year contract will help to improve airline and passenger experience at both the airports.

JEC will also analyse the capital investment requirements, evaluate how buildings and infrastructure are managed, find out areas to improve and prioritise critical maintenance and repair projects.

The company noted that the contract includes a base year with multiple one-year options.

Jacobs People and Places Solutions executive vice-president Ken Gilmartin said: “Our long-standing relationship with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is even more important now as air travel begins to increase and this project will prioritise keeping airports safe, efficient and reliable for travellers.

“Working collectively, we have the opportunity to improve the passenger experience and make travel easier for individuals using Washington DC’s airports.”

Additionally, the firm will integrate physical asset inventories with EAM technology to improve the quality and efficiency of resources, save costs, extend facility life and enhance safety, health and environment initiatives at the two airports.

Last month, Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) appointed JEC as the programme management consultant for the forthcoming Delhi Noida International Airport (DNIA) project in India.

The first phase of the greenfield development includes the construction of a new terminal complex, runway, taxiways and aircraft parking, air traffic control tower and cargo facilities.
