The contract will increase air cargo flows between both airports and bring freighter service.

“The main objective of the partnership is to position Cabo Frio as Houston’s gateway into Brazil.”

It is said to be the first such agreement with a public airport under private management in Brazil.

Houston Airport System said in a statement: “The main objective of the partnership is to position Cabo Frio as Houston’s gateway into Brazil, once the city has a strategic location close to the Campos and Santos Basins, where much of Brazil’s oil production is based, with efficient access to the main cities of the largest economic region in the country.”

The agreement will enable both companies to identify potential partners, clients, and products, as well as share knowledge and experiences for the development of new business opportunities.
