UAE-based flydubai has entered an agreement with Boeing for the $27bn purchase of 225 737 MAX aircraft.

The contract also comprises a commitment for 175 MAX aircraft and purchase rights for 50 additional MAX jets.

The commitment features more than 50737 MAX 10 aircraft, which is the latest and biggest member of the 737 MAX aircraft family.

Once finalised, the newly signed deal is expected to sustain a large chunk of direct and indirect jobs at Boeing’s US-based factories and suppliers’ networks.

flydubai has so far received 63 737-800s and three 737 MAX 8 aircraft from Boeing.

Separately, Boeing has announced that Egyptair is set to acquire six 787-9 Dreamliners on lease from Ireland-based AerCap.

With the new aircraft, Egyptair intends to expand and modernise its existing fleet.
