UAE-based airline Emirates has acquired two Boeing 777X full-flight simulators (FFS) from aviation technology supplier CAE.
The carrier announced its intent to buy the simulators during the 2019 Dubai Airshow.

Emirates also purchased the related training suites of CAE XR Series models. It has options for four additional training suites.
The airline is the biggest customer of the new upgraded 777 aircraft with firm orders of 126 planes in place.
The Boeing 777X FFS is scheduled to be delivered in early 2021.
CAE Group civil aviation training solutions president Nick Leontidis said: “CAE is honoured to support Emirates’ pilot training programme as the airline readies for the entry-into-service of its new Boeing 777X fleet.

CAE sold the world’s first airline-operated Boeing 777X FFS to Lufthansa Aviation Training in 2017. The following year, it sold another three Boeing 777X FFSs to Qatar Airways.
CAE recently sold a Boeing 777X FFS to an undisclosed Asian airline.
Emirates Airline chief operating officer Adel Al Redha said: “We want to ensure our flight deck crew are prepared to operate the B777X variants as they enter operation, and combined with CAE’s track record of execution and innovation, I am confident we will benefit from the best training equipment available.”
Last month, CAE revealed its plan to expand training capacity in the Middle East.
The company will deploy its new Bombardier Global 7500 FFS to the Emirates-CAE Flight Training Centre (ECFT) in Dubai.
