The newly installed high-speed rotational testing capability features a high-speed drive system with a 300HP motor that has a dual head oil cooled gearbox with outputs of 18,000RPM and 30,000RPM.

Element Materials Technology Aerospace executive vice-president Rick Sluiters said: “There is significant demand within the aerospace sector to be able to test generators for the largest electrical power management systems.

“This investment, alongside our full suite of RTCA DO160 and MIL-STD-461/810 environmental and electromagnetic interference (EMI) capabilities, means that we are able to offer our aerospace customers a fully comprehensive set of capabilities in product qualification testing.

“Element’s technical expertise is such that very few organisations are able to provide this type of service, with the requisite level of quality control and project management demanded in the sector.’’
