Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum welcomed the re-opening of Terminal 1, calling it an ‘important step’ in supporting the projected growth in travel demand in the ‘coming weeks and months.’

The airport authorities have also advised the passengers to confirm their terminal of departure with their respective carrier before coming to the airport, as the transition is expected to take place in various phases.

Dubai Airports intends to complete the relocation plan by the end of this month.

The $1.2bn Concourse D, which is connected to Terminal 1 by an airport train, was opened in February 2016.

Together, the two facilities have an annual capacity of 18 million passengers.
