The Denver City Council in Colorado, US, has sanctioned nearly $112m in 11 contracts for the construction and maintenance operations at Denver International Airport (DIA).

DIA officials informed that the airport would send quarterly reports concerning the use of funds and contract operations to the council.

The approved contracts consist of $20m each for five contracts between the airport and Hensel Phelps Construction (HPCC), Turner Construction (TCC), FCI Constructors, Milender White Construction and PCL Construction Services.

These three-year contracts include on-call general construction services at the airport such as infrastructure and facility projects in the main terminal, the lobbies, the airfield and the nearby area.

The project has the scope to cover office remodels, structural upkeeps, concourse renovations, gate expansions and rearrangements.

The council has approved $2m each for four three-year contracts with Hensel Phelps Construction and Sky Blue Builders.

Both companies will secure two contracts each for on-call airside with one-year extension options, as well as landside facility maintenance and overhaul services.

Under these contracts, services related to ventilation, heating, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, life safety, appliance and paint will be provided.

The council sanctioned $4m for a two-year contract with ADB Safegate Americas, including the procurement of runway lighting components.

Furthermore, an estimated $90m five-year contract with the operator of DIA’s public parking facilities SP Plus Corporation, which was approved in 2017, was modified.

Last week, the council approved five DIA service contracts of more than $150m, covering construction, management for oil and gas facilities on airport property and passenger conveyance systems and workers.
