UK-based online food delivery company Deliveroo has partnered with airport operator Dubai Airports to launch the region’s first airport delivery service at Dubai International Airport (DXB).

The new DeliverooDXB service is a customer-centric airport initiative that allows passengers with time constraints to receive freshly prepared food delivered directly to their boarding gates within minutes of ordering.

Travellers will need to place an order on the company app, website or via the quick link available on the airport’s high-speed, unlimited free Wi-Fi service known as ‘Wow-Fi’ to make use of the scheme.

Dubai Airports Commercial and Communications group executive vice-president Eugene Barry said: “Our mission to completely reinvent the airport experience is rooted in implementing innovative concepts, as demonstrated by this partnership with the world’s best food delivery brand.

“Deliveroo’s mission is to provide the best food delivery experience in the world, and there is no reason why that should be limited to the home or office.”

“Now passengers can receive delicious food from our food and beverage outlets while they wait to board, all made possible by the expertise of Deliveroo and our world-beating Wow-Fi service.”

The delivery service is currently available for DXB passengers at the airport’s Terminal 3 and A-Gates, with more than 10 outlets participating at this time.

Deliveroo GCC general manager Anis Harb said: “Deliveroo’s mission is to provide the best food delivery experience in the world, and there is no reason why that should be limited to the home or office.

“Joining forces with Dubai Airports is a strategic next step for us as we continue to revolutionise the way people order restaurant food.

“With our riders now delivering to the gate, there is no reason to miss breakfast, lunch or dinner even when passengers may only have minutes to spare before boarding.”

Dubai Airports will consider introducing the DeliverooDXB service across further outlets and concourses at DXB following a six-month trial period.
