The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has acquired an indirect equity stake in Airport International Group (AIG).

AIG is the operator and developer of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) in Jordan, under a 25-year build-operate-transfer (BOT) concession agreement.

A consortium comprising ADP Group, Meridiam, and Asma Capital acquired 85.25% of shares from small stakeholders in AIG in April 2018. ADP Group became the major shareholder with the acquisition of 51% stake, while Meridiam increased its stake to 32%.

The transaction will see EBRD will invest approximately €30.5m ($34.9m) in Meridiam.

The acquisition enables Laudo to increase its fleet to 25 aircraft by summer 2019. It has already signed agreements with multiple leasing companies to increase its aircraft fleet to 30 by summer 2020.

It also plans to add 20 new routes including Vienna, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, and Palma. The handling negotiations are currently underway and are expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2019.

Japan Airlines intends to sign a code-share agreement with UK-based airline services provider British Airways.

Japan Airlines is the flag carrier of the country and is also known as Nikko.

The agreement allows the customers of both airliners to avail aviation services between London and Osaka.
