The expansion is set to create 30 new jobs, increasing CLEAR’s total local employment to over 135 positions at ATL.

This growth is also projected to raise the company’s annual economic impact in the Atlanta metro area to more than $14m. The CLEAR lanes in the domestic terminal will continue to operate as usual.

ATL was the 20th airport to adopt CLEAR’s service, which now spans across 58 airports nationwide.

The technology allows members to rapidly confirm their identity using biometric data, such as eye scans or fingerprints, thus eliminating the traditional ID check points.

CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman Becker said: “We’re excited to expand CLEAR’s presence at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, bringing a streamlined travel experience to Atlanta’s travellers.

“With our new lanes in the international terminal, our Ambassadors are ready to offer a faster, more predictable, and secure journey for Atlanta passengers as travel continues to grow.”

CLEAR Plus members, who pay an annual fee, can access the expedited lanes and are guided through security by a CLEAR Ambassador.

The membership costs less than $17 per month when billed annually. Preferred pricing is available for members of Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and American Express.

There are also discounts for active military personnel, veterans, and government officials. Additional family members can be added to an existing CLEAR Plus account at $119 per adult per year.

In 2022, ATL, in collaboration with Southwest Airlines, began trials of self-driving robot pods to assist passengers with reduced mobility (PRM).

The electric pods, developed by Canada’s A&K Robotics, are designed to safely transport individuals with limited mobility.
