Around 300 Chinese passengers are stranded at airports in the Philippines after the Philippines Government restricted travel to and from China, Hong Kong and Macau to limit the spread of coronavirus.
The country’s Immigration Department spokeswoman Dana Sandoval stated that the travellers were stranded as flights to China were cancelled by airlines.
The country has banned the entry of any passenger, including transit passengers, from the three locations.
However, those with permanent residence visas and citizens returning to the country are allowed to enter.

The government has stated that there are around 80 suspected cases of coronavirus in the country, with two confirmed cases.
Recently, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced new rules regarding aircraft arrivals from China.
DHS stated that all flights arriving from China and passengers who visited China in the past 14 days will be rerouted to eleven specified airports in the country.
Three major US airlines have also suspended all flights to China. Other carriers from other countries have also cancelled flights to major parts of China.
Many countries, including Russia, Italy, Israel and Hong Kong, have closed their borders and restricted all travel to and from China.
