Lion Air Group previously launched Boeing’s MAX 9 aircraft. The company was the first operator to put the MAX 8 into service and has announced its commitment to buy 50 MAX 10 aircraft.

In a separate development, Ukraine-based startup SkyUp Airlines has finalised an order with Boeing to purchase five 737 MAX aircraft worth $624m at list prices.

The order features two 737 MAX 8 and three 737 МАХ 10 aircraft. It is expected to help SkyUp Airlines meet future demand in the Ukrainian market.

The airline plans to commence charter operations next month by leasing next-generation Boeing 737 airplanes.
