Spanish carrier Binter has taken delivery of the first of five E195-E2 jets from Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer.
The order is part of the carrier’s comprehensive fleet modernisation plan and makes Binter the first European customer to receive the biggest aircraft of the E-Jets E2 family.

A ceremony for the incorporation of the aircraft into Binter’s fleet was held at Embraer’s facility in São José dos Campos, Brazil.
Featuring a single-class configuration, the 132-seater aircraft offers a 1.4% reduction in fuel consumption or 25.4% fuel per seat compared with the current-generation E195 and 20% lower maintenance costs.
It also features new bypass ratio engines and wing, as well as full fly-by-wire controls and landing gear.
Compared with the previous E195 generation, the aircraft systems are 75% new and provide reduced external noise and emissions levels.

By GlobalDataWith a flight time of 10,000 hours for basic checks, the E195-E2 has extensive maintenance intervals in the single-aisle jet class.
Binter president Pedro Agustín del Castillo said: “This Embraer E195-E2 aircraft is an important step in the history of our company that will become as well a jet operator.
“This new milestone, which coincides with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Binter, adds more advances to the ones that we have made in recent years, and that help to pursue our main objective: the improvement of the connecting of the Canary Islands, both inter-island and with external destinations.”
The new E195-E2 will fly across eight cities in the Canary Islands, nine in Africa, and two in Portugal.
