Aviation training centre BAA Training will purchase 48 Cessna Skyhawk aircraft from Textron Aviation to expand its training fleet as it seeks to offer an increased capacity for students.

The Lithuania-based company, a subsidiary of the Avia Solutions Group, is looking to significantly expand its resources as it works on achieving a capacity of 1000 students per year for its commercial pilot courses across Europe and Asia.

Marijus Ravoitis, CEO of BAA Training, said: “We are glad to finalize this order, as the addition of 48 Cessna Skyhawks will bolster our resources, enabling us to accommodate the growing demand for training and further solidify our position in the industry.”

BAA’s continued use of the Cessna Skyhawk, agreed during the Dubai Airshow, also furthers the aircraft’s position as a favourite of the pilot training industry, with Textron describing it as the “world’s leading flight trainer”.

Chris Crow, vice president of piston sales for Textron, highlighted the six-decade-long history of the aircraft and its use for training pilots and said: “We are delighted to continue the relationship with BAA Training to provide their students access to the most produced single-engine aircraft globally.”

The new aircraft are expected to be delivered in 2026 and could be used at BAA Training’s centres in Spain, Lithuania, France, and Vietnam. The company also offers pilot training services through its consultancy office in India and a sales representative office in the UAE.
