Belgium-based ADB Safegate has launched its new platform for managing airport apron operations.
The new Intelligent AiPRON platform is claimed to have been designed to offer a complete, intelligent and sustainable approach to managing apron activities from landing to takeoff.
This platform makes use of machine learning technologies to offer improved operations predictability while enabling a consistent level of safety, productivity, and efficiency.
The Intelligent AiPRON portfolio comprises five add-on software modules, specifically AiPRON Manager, AiPRON 360, AiPRON Resource, AiPRON Connect and AiPRON Finance.
AiPRON Manager has been designed to gather and present real-time intelligence for apron operational performance while AiPRON 360 manages aircraft turnaround activities from landing to takeoff.
The company said that its AiPRON Resource is an AI-driven and KPI-focused stand and gate resource allocation solution, and its AiPRON Connect helps in scheduling and tracking the usage of ground service equipment.
AiPRON Finance is an apron-focused aeronautical revenue calculation and invoicing solution.
ADB SAFEGATE Gate vice-president Thorben Burghardt said: “ADB SAFEGATE is continually innovating to provide new ways for airports and airlines to optimise operations that will ultimately automate the entire docking and turnaround process.
“With Intelligent AiPRON, we are taking the natural next step by integrating all the systems and processes important to apron operations into a single ecosystem that uses the latest technologies to optimise taxiing, docking and pushback procedures and improve the efficiency and elasticity of ground handling operations as a whole.”
Intelligent AiPRON is based on the augmented intelligence concept, which is a subsection of AI machine learning to enhance human decision-making with a more detailed evaluation of information gathered.
