BEUMER Group Middle East will showcase integrated end-to-end baggage handling systems using the CrisBag tote-based conveyor system, at the Airport Show, in the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre (DICEC), from 6 – 8 May 2013.

At the Innovation Seminars, which will be held in conjunction with the show, Mr. Klaus Toftgaard Spens, Managing Director of BEUMER Group Middle East, will provide insights into how tote-based systems are enabling airports to use seamless screening and sortation to increase the operational efficiency and reliability of their baggage handling systems.

The stand will feature a section of the CrisBag system, which was developed by BEUMER Group company, Crisplant. CrisBag’s ability to be retro-fitted into an existing baggage handling system helps major airport hubs to immediately solve congestion and other challenges on the baggage screening lines.

The system uses the concept of transporting ‘one bag per tote; one tote per section’ to enable each item of baggage to remain in the same tote from check-in, through the sorting and screening processes. Modularity and ease of integration, combined with sophisticated adaptive tote tilting for static and dynamic tilting at baggage discharge, has led to the installation of CrisBag systems in international airports such as Munich, Helsinki, Singapore, Calgary and Düsseldorf.

BEUMER Group Middle East will also highlight the recent successful handing-over of the baggage handling system at Hamad International Airport (former New Doha International Airport) in Qatar. The result of 5 years of intensive work, this major new baggage handling system will continue to be operated and maintained by Crisplant’s Customer Support organisation as part of a residential service contract with Hamad International Airport.

BEUMER Group Middle East, with Crisplant, will be exhibiting in the Airport Show’s German Pavilion, stand no. E101, Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre (DICEC), from 6 – 8 May 2013.
