Alstef has been awarded two contracts for baggage handling systems at PARIS CDG airport.

After security protection works recently realised in the inbound baggage system of Terminal 3, Alstef is in charge of the Terminal 2 E inbound baggage room.

The work consists of a re-organisation of the baggage delivery area in order to prevent the baggage coming from the airside and delivered on to the reclaim carrousels in the baggage room to re-circulate to the airside.

The contract includes the design, supply and installation of eight deposit lines and the modification of four carrousels. Automation device, security protection, fire protection and connection to the SCADA system are part of the contract. The works will be done on each carrousel during 2009 and 2010 in order to avoid any disturbance to the operations.

As part of the preliminary works for the re-arrangement of the Terminal 2B, Alstef will install a new check-in area to be used by Easy Jet. The order includes the design, supply and installation of a new check-in island, its connection to the existing sortation system and the dismantling of the existing lines. Automation device, security protection, fire protection and connection to the SCADA system are also included in the contract. The system will be delivered within a short schedule as it must be operational for the end of the year holiday period.
