With the new ATC services project at Säve Airport, the Swedish ANSP will be able to manage air navigation services at 15 of the 20 airports in the country.

ACR Aviation Capacity Resources currently handles air navigation service provisions at 14 Swedish airports, the largest of which are Stockholm-Skavsta and Stockholm-Västerås.

"There is a great deal of trust as the mission is primarily about air traffic services for socially important functions."

Säve Airport is operated by construction and real estate company Serneke since the firm took over its operation and ownership from Swedavia on 1 February.

ACR Aviation Capacity Resources CEO Wilhelm Wohlfahrt said: “It is incredibly exciting for us at ACR to develop our service at Säve Airport together with one of Sweden’s most interesting construction companies.

ACR’s new agreement with Serneke will continue for a period of four years through 2021, with an option of further renewal.

Wohlfahrt added: “We will now recruit a number of operational controllers. Together, they are given the responsibility to rebuild the important ATC service at Säve and staff the control tower that has been closed since the turn of the year.”
