Frequentis US has delivered its 3020X voice communications system (VCS) for Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in the US.

The Frequentis solution is the 131st VCS installed at the airport and has been accepted by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under its interim voice switch replacement (IVSR) programme.

Delivered for the DFW NextGEN Metroplex, the 3020X VCS comprises 109 controller working positions deployed throughout the airport’s terminal radar approach control facility (TRACON) and its three air traffic control (ATC) towers.

Headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, Frequentis US successfully completed the 3020X VCS’s formal qualification test in March, and attained site acceptance on 23 June.

DFW handles 65 million passengers and 680,000 flight movements each year.

In July, the company deployed its 3020X VCS for the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA).

Installed under the supervision of Polish company IT-COM, the Frequentis solution is expected to help PANSA improve its services at Krakow airport.
