Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has implemented the Autonomous Patrol Car (APC) developed by autonomous driving solution provider Teksbotics and its technology partner UISEE, which is said to emulate real-world patrolling.
APC is an unmanned vehicle that will operate in the restricted area of HKIA.

Equipped with eight high-definition cameras, APC has been designed to monitor unauthorised people movement or any abnormal conditions related to the barbed wire.
It will alert the on-duty airport staff on detecting abnormalities during patrolling.
The unmanned vehicle features three lidars and two sets of differential global positioning systems (dGPS) that will enable it to monitor people or nearby objects to prevent collisions.
The company also claims that its APC lowers air resistance to enhance fuel efficiency and cut down emissions.

The first stage of APC was deployed along the South Runway Road of HKIA, and presently there are four APCs that are patrolling the South and North Runway.
