Collins Aerospace has signed a long-term maintenance repair overhaul (MRO) agreement with Singapore Airlines and Scoot.

Under the agreement, Collins Aerospace will provide MRO services to a fleet of 55 Boeing 787 aircraft belonging to Singapore Airlines Group.

Collins Aerospace Power and Controls president Henry Brooks said: “This contract marks a significant milestone for Collins, Singapore Airlines and Scoot in strengthening the close relationship we’ve built over the year.

“We look forward to continuing to provide the airlines with comprehensive MRO services to keep their 787s flying and optimise fleet operations.”

Collins will offer full lifecycle support, maintenance services and reliability upgrades to the aircraft under its FlightSense programme.

The scope of the MRO agreement covers Collins’ air management systems and emergency power systems.

It also includes fire suppression, sensors, lighting systems, as well as an electric power generator and start systems.

Singapore Airlines Engineering senior vice-president Lau Hwa Peng said: “Our longstanding partnership with Collins Aerospace has provided our airlines with high-quality maintenance and support services, even as we navigated the challenges brought about by the pandemic over the last two years.

“We look forward to an even closer relationship with Collins as the industry recovers in the coming years.”

The new pact also extends Collins existing FlightSense programme with Scoot Airline, signed in 2014 and will now comprise new 787 aircraft to be delivered in 2023.

Scoot Tigerair, which operates as Scoot, is a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines.

Earlier this week, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) appointed Collins Aerospace to supply passenger processing and baggage systems at three airports.
