Introduced in 2012, Air Arabia’s City Check-in service allows passengers to drop off their luggage at a nearby location and get their boarding pass and baggage claim tags before travelling with the airline.

It also enables customers to choose their seats.

With the help of these services, passengers can directly proceed to the flight after reaching the airport.

The three facilities, situated at Sharjah, Safeer Mall and Air Arabia Sales Shop in Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman, will provide check-in services throughout the week from 9am to 9pm.

These centres will collect bags from 24 to eight hours before the departure of the flight.

Thereafter, the baggage will be carried directly to Sharjah International Airport (SHJ).

In a statement, Air Arabia said: “Ensuring the highest standards of safety at every step of the journey by following all health and safety protocols, Air Arabia has also added to the convenience and confidence of passengers by introducing free Covid-19 insurance coverage.”

Furthermore, the airline will automatically include insurance during the booking and no extra documents will be needed from travellers.

Last month, Air Arabia Egypt announced plans to launch a new route from Cairo International Airport (CAI) to Khartoum International Airport (KRT) starting from January.

Separately, Saudi Arabia recently revealed its intention to privatise all airports in the country under its ‘Vision 2030’ strategy.
