Airport operator daa has selected civil engineering firm Bechtel as an integrated delivery partner for the Dublin Airport (DUB) capital investment programme.
Bechtel has secured the contract through a public tender process.

The company will be responsible for providing additional capacity and capability to the Dublin Airport over the next five years to support the capital investment programme.
The employees of Bechtel will become part of Dublin Airport’s existing team, offering the infrastructure department flexibility required to adhere to the programme’s demands.
Dublin Airport managing director Vincent Harrison said: “This is a new approach in the Irish market for a major programme of works, and it will bring significant benefits for Dublin Airport.
“It will deliver a true partnership of people, processes, systems and best practice and will ensure that we have world-class resources as needed to support our existing highly experienced and skilled in-house teams.

Recently, daa commenced the procurement process for various long-term projects at Dublin Airport.
Some of the essential projects including the construction of a new North Runway and the upgrade of hold baggage screening systems at Dublin Airport are already underway.
There would also be a need for ongoing works across the Dublin airport campus.
In Ireland, daa owns and operates Dublin and Cork airports. It also has operations/investments across 15 countries including India, Cyprus Germany, Canada, New Zealand and Saudi Arabia.
In January, daa International secured a contract to operate the new airport at The Red Sea Development Project in Saudi Arabia.
