Lithuanian Airports has installed new airport management and information display systems at its three airports, Vilnius (VNO), Kaunas (KUN) and Palanga (PLQ), to upgrade airport operations management (OMS) and enhance efficiency.
The new airport management system has been developed and deployed by the IT provider SITA.

The three airports were earlier using separate operations management systems, which were challenging and time-consuming to maintain.
The new system receives flight updates from standard aviation feeds and processes them automatically, resulting in increased operational efficiency.
This system will help the airport operators to make decisions on time and allot airport resources like check-in desks, boarding gates and baggage claim belts without human intervention.
Apart from SITA Airport Management, SITA Information Display System was also deployed by Lithuanian Airports.

For arriving passengers, the system will provide information such as baggage claim number and transfer information, and information relating to the boarding gate, departure time, delays or cancellations will be disseminated for departing passengers.
In addition, the system will also share relevant data with the Lithuanian Police, ground handling agencies, Lithuania’s Air Traffic Control Agency and other internal airport stakeholders.
Lithuanian Airports operations and infrastructure head Dainius Čiuplys said: “For us, interconnecting various systems under one roof, digitising processes and increasing operational effectiveness is of key importance. We operate more than 200 information screens at our three airports, all of which must be aligned by one common system. The system must ensure that the screens show relevant, correct information at the right locations at the airport in real-time. We are confident that this new state-of-the-art system will help administer all airport operations with greater efficiency and accuracy.”
In 2019, Lithuanian Airports signed a contract with SITA to install the new operations management system.
The old information displays at Vilnius Airport installed in 2007 will be disabled this week.
