Aeroporti di Roma’s Rome Fiumicino and Rome Ciampino airports have successfully finished the Airport Health Measures Audit Programme.
The completion makes them the first in the world to pass the on-site audit programme and demonstrates their compliance with the measures.

Both the airports can now present the SafeGuard label, which is awarded to businesses that have implemented policies and procedures aligned with local regulatory requirements and good hygiene, health and safety practices to curb the spread of coronavirus.

The new Airport Health Measures Audit programme has been developed by Airports Council International (ACI) World in partnership with Bureau Veritas, a company specialised in testing, inspection and certification.

ACI World director General Luis Felipe de Oliveira said: “These airports have set a strong example and we will continue to work with airports around the world to support recovery so the sustainable social and economic benefits of aviation can be delivered to the communities we serve.

In November 2020, Worldwide Airport Slot Board (WASB), comprising Airports Council International (ACI World), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and the Worldwide Airport Coordinators Group (WWACG), sought for airport slot use relief for the northern summer 2021 season.
