Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport in Australia has shortlisted the contractors for its baggage handling system.
The contractors will be responsible for the design, construction and operation of the baggage handling system, which is expected to be an important aspect of the airport’s operations.

After the open registration of interest phase, the airport shortlisted Beumer Group Australia, BCS Airport Systems, Vanderlande Industries Australia and Siemens Logistics and Glidepath Australia.
The airport plans to award the contract later this year.

Meanwhile, major earthworks are underway at Western Sydney Airport for the construction of the Nancy-Bird Walton terminal, runway, roads and railways.
Expected to open in 2026, the A$5.3bn ($3.5bn) airport will be equipped to handle ten million passengers annually.
