The ban also extends to foreigners who carry APEC Business Travel Cards. The ban, however, doesn’t extend to people who have diplomatic, service, courtesy or C visas.
People who wish to enter China for necessary economic, trade, scientific or technological activities or due to emergency humanitarian needs can still apply for entry visas at the Chinese embassies or consulates.
This suspension is expected to limit the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus in China.
In a statement, the Ministry added: “China will stay in close touch with all sides and properly handle personnel exchanges with the rest of the world under the special circumstances. The above-mentioned measures will be calibrated in light of the evolving situation and announced accordingly.”

National Health Commission of China has reported that, of the 55 confirmed cases the previous day, 54 were imported.
In other news, Civil Aviation Administration of China has stated that the construction work on 65 airport projects has resumed. Of these, 27 are reported to be ‘national major airport projects’.
The construction of the airports was halted due to the increase in Covid-19 cases in the country.
The Covid-19 pandemic has so far killed more than 24,000 and infected more than 537,000 people around the world.
China, which was previously the epicentre of the outbreak, has reported 3,296 deaths and around 81,000 confirmed cases.
