Etihad Aviation Group’s cargo and logistics division Etihad Cargo has signed agreements to boost its partnership agreements with air services provider Dnata.

The agreements are valid until 2023. As part of the deal, Dnata will offer warehouse and cargo handling services for air cargo management at 15 locations in Etihad Cargo’s network around the world.

The agreement marks the partnership’s first entry into North American and Southeast Asian markets.

Dnata’s operations at Canada’s Toronto Pearson Airport started on 5 February, while the operations n Singapore’s Changi Airport will begin on 1 May.

The partnership exists in Dubai International and Dubai World Central in UAE, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in Australia, Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad in Pakistan, Zurich and Geneva in Switzerland, Manchester, UK, Milan, Italy, and Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Etihad Cargo Operations and Service Delivery head Andre Blech said: “Our extended agreements with Dnata reinforce a partnership that has grown rapidly during the past decade and marks a significant milestone between two UAE entities with a truly global presence.”

Dnata International Airport Operations divisional senior vice-president Stewart Angus said: “We are delighted to expand our long-standing, successful partnership with Etihad Cargo. We continue to invest in our facilities, equipment and team to deliver best-in-class services for this important customer airline.”

According to the agreement, Dnata will also provide passenger ground and ramp handling services to Etihad Airways at nine locations, including Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore, Zurich, Geneva, Milan, Toronto and New York, US.

Last week, Etihad Cargo partnered with Freightos’ WebCargo to extend the reach of digital air cargo.

As part of the partnership, the reach of Etihad Cargo is expected to increase to approximately 1,700 logistics providers around the world.
